Coaching Philosophy

I’m very passionate about golf as a sport for everyone — it’s life enhancing and a spectacular game.
I work with all levels of players and my goal is always to meet them where their skill level is at and help them reach their goals as a player in a positive environment. My coaching involves technical, physical, and mental aspects of playing.
Most important, for each of my players that I coach and work with, I’m their biggest fan!

Coaching Experience

Over 25 years of coaching and teaching experience. Most recently served as the Director of Golf/Head Women’s Golf Coach at Monmouth University. Former Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Director of Instruction at Twin Brook Golf Center,
In 2020, the First Tee of the Jersey Shore honored her as their “ACE Award” honoree and she serves on various boards for Junior and Women’s Golf.
She has been featured on Fox Sports as a leading instructor for stroke survivors and was the lead instructor for the ARC of Monmouth, providing instruction for athletes preparing for the Special Olympics.
Melia has spent her career creating and developing programs for players of all levels and abilities and in particular proving instruction for women learning the game, spearheading efforts within the LPGA Amateur NJ Chapters as well as Veterans.

Most Memorable Sports Moment

The LPGA named her National Golf Coach of the Year in 2008 for her efforts as head coach at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where the women’s program won eight Division I tournaments earning a berth to the NCAA Championship.
