Coaching Philosophy

While each student is an individual, the basis for all good golf swings starts with solid fundamentals. My goal is to give each student what they need to succeed, not a cookie cutter approach. Also, a good short game trumps everything. As a father of four daughters, it is my goal to help achieve gender equality in golf.

Competitive Background

In a previous life I was a Wall Street banker, so early playing was in amateur events such as US Public Links and US Mid-Amateur.
As a pro, I’ve played in several mini tours, Moonlight and Space Coast Tours on a part time basis.

Coaching Experience

I have been at Chelsea Piers for 24 years working with all levels of golfers. Of particular satisfaction has been working with former collegiate athletes, including men who picked up golf usually for business, after playing another sport at a high level.
In conjunction with top 50 Golf Instructor, Mitchell Spearman, started a competitive junior elite summer program. This formed the basis of the program that exists at Chelsea Piers today.

Watching President Bush throw out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium after 9/11.
